Greetings to all for a Happy International Women's Day!
Surely, we all have good wishes for one another, in all nations, that fairness, respect and equality shall prevail to enhance our lives as individuals, that will definitely serve to prosper all nations.
We should all address the problems that prevent this, however, and one of these is the 'clashing of cultures' that is taking place at this time.
Western civilization was for many years an inspiration and an admiration to many mid east and eastern countries. But it should be noted that some trendy and highly visible western customs are becoming more and more of an offense to many cultures where there may be extremists like the Sept.11 villains that call us ' infidels.'
These intolerant, killer types lie in wait for every immodest trend that comes along in America, to try and persuade many in foreign nations that we are dirty and dispensable.
For example, in yesterday's news there was a report that Iran has banned the scantily dressed Barbie doll for one that is covered and suited to their modest culture, so that their children won't be contaminated by our immodesty. Alarmingly, along with this there is much, intense disrespect, with resentment and hostility for us.
Seeing that we in America are one very visible part of a judgmental world system, rather than in an isolated cocoon, it would be prudent to assume a lot more responsibility in the way we present ourselves.
I don't know when it started, but all of a sudden we were invaded by navels. Not just at the beach, but in shopping malls, a lot on television; in grocery stores, in schools and at events; just about everywhere, and rather than a fashion statement, it makes us look cheap to many, and to many that are intolerant and dangerous.
Proverbs 31:30
Favor is deceitful, and beauty, vain, ....
It's things like that, in the way we present ourselves, that serve to compromise, not enhance our freedoms.

stretches out her hand to the poor;
yes,
she stretches forth her hands to the needy.
But we are a generous nation in the way we, for the most part, try and help others, with donations and peace keepers all over the world. But intolerant peoples seek to resent us for our faults, rather than appreciate us for our merits.
'THE CALL OF THE DAY'
The 'Call of The Day' is certainly for more 'responsibility' now in this jeopardized world. Television and movie production, the music and fashion industries, individuals, we all need to take into account that the situation now, demands our attentive responsibility and immediate, visible response in toning down the immodesty, smut and 'funny' stuff that is offensive to so many, and that invite dangers from the many who are intolerant and unscrupulous around the world.
For our brothers and sisters are dying over there, for us.
Let us pray,
Our FATHER,
Please Help us all to make a real effort to expand our horizons,
with less self centeredness;
with more awareness of the concerns and sensibilities of others,
and in other nations with other customs,
in our world citizenship in which we seek peace as we unite in
Your Great Goodness and Love for all of us.
Make us all tolerant and patient, as we adjust to a more connected reality;
Help us, Holy FATHER, to all live together
united in peace and love for one another,
Please Help us, FATHER, to bring our Beloved home, alive.
